Latest Updates from Our Project:

Our manufacturer has been chosen, and pop-up room files now finalized and in pre-production!

And the winner is... LongPack!

Earlier this year, we requested quotes from 5 excellent manufacturers, and after a lengthy RFQ process we're pleased to announce that LongPack has been selected to manufacture The Shivers! They've helped bring some incredible games into the world, so we're confident that our pop-up mystery adventure will be in good hands.

Pop-up rooms are in pre-production!

We've locked down all pop-up room artwork/dieline files, and LongPack is creating a set of pre-production prototypes for our approval. While they're doing this, we're taking the time to finalize all other artwork in our game: manuals, standees, boxes, dice, dashboards, etc. Those artwork files should be completed by mid-August. So what does this all mean? We're on track to get the game to you by the end of the year, around December.

A sample of one of the final dieline files: the Cluttered Kitchen! Look at those blocky magenta areas...can any of you guess their purpose?

Your "Thank You" names are in the Lore Booklet!

How do you cram almost 6000 names into 16  7"x5.5" pages? With 6 columns per page and 7 point font size... good thing the game comes with a magnifying glass to find your name!

Are you following @TheShiversGame ? You really should...

Our social media accounts are rich with up-to-date Shivers news, games and puzzles, special offers, contests, and samples of our incredible artwork. Make sure to follow us on all the Social Media outlets.

That's it for now, we'll send another update as we get further into production, and start to review and approve the pre-production prototype samples!

Just some quick thoughts for our dear backers and fans...
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jun 30, 2021 at 12:10:44 AM

Getting a little teary-eyed...

So this wasn't something I expected. Our last survey (which is now closed) asked you for how you'd like your name listed in our Backer Thank You section of our Lore Booklet. As I was reading through the list of almost 5000 names on a Google doc, reviewing each one for being too many characters, or misspellings or curse words (or misspelled curse words), it really hit me emotionally. It took me hours to go through all the names (and my finger got very tired of scrolling), but as I made my way through all the Davids and Christophers and Jennys and Ashleys and Johns, and even Arturos and Bjorns and Jörgens and Astrids and Nikitas, and even the occasional Nuzzlebunny and Wookie, I felt something welling up inside me. I felt that, to each one of you personally, wherever you live, I am profoundly grateful.

I said a silent "Thank You" as I made my way over each name, because you shared our vision so deeply that you invested your hard-earned resources to help make this game a reality. Many of you were proud to write your own names. Others dedicated the game to their partners, their friends, their own children. Some offered memorials to loved ones that have passed and will be remembered. It hammered home the fact that I am entrusted by you, more than ever, to make this game truly special and worthy of your dedications. The Shivers is now OUR game, and you are absolutely included in that community even though we may be far apart. As we get into the last days of prepping our game for manufacturing, my personal focus will be ensuring we live up to the trust and dedication you have placed in us from the beginning.

I personally am dedicating this game to my daughters, who inspired it. Eventually, I hope we can all meet one evening in a spine-tingling venue, maybe an old castle or dark cottage (or the Halls of PAX and Essen, or your Friendly Local Game Shop), and we can sit and share in a bit of what we all created together, something hard to find in our modern lives: a true moment of magic and mystery.

Your credit cards are now being charged for shipping, any taxes, and any add-ons, and clearing up some confusion!
almost 3 years ago – Tue, Jun 22, 2021 at 11:14:45 PM

Credit cards charged yesterday/today.

Hello Shivers backers! Yesterday and today, we started charging your cards for the last payment: the all-important shipping charges, any applicable tax charges, and any add-ons you put in your cart. This will be the final transaction required, from here on out all you have to do is sit tight and wait for your game later this year. Of course, you can still change your shipping address via the BackerKit pledge manager link.

Clearing up some confusion on your statements:

Some of you see this latest credit charge from the BackerKit pledge manager as "Tabletop Game". We realize this is fairly generic and caused confusion amongst many of you, so we're changing the charge description that appears on your statement to "The Shivers Game". We hope this makes things more clear, and we appreciate those of you who brought it to our attention.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, that's it for now!

The Shivers Pledge Manager Closing! Card will be charged! Development Updates! More Exclamation Marks!!!
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Jun 20, 2021 at 12:20:34 AM

The Pledge Manager closes on June 21st! Cards will be Charged!

The Summer Solstice is upon us and, as we mentioned, the Pledge Manager and Pre-Order store will be closing, so make sure to add any last-minute items to your carts now! Yes we know the actual Solstice is on the 20th, but want to give you that full 24 hours before locking it down and charging your cards the next day. Can we recommend the covetous magnifying glass 4-pack, or luxurious velvet bag?

The magnifying glass pack will ensure each player can hunt for all the tiny clues, instead of having to share one. And the velvet back will keep your dice, magnifiers, and dry-erase markers nicely organized!

And don't worry about your shipping addresses; even though the Pledge Manager will be closed for adding to your order, you'll still be able to modify your address right up until the time we ship later this year.

We've collected over 6000+ Backer Thank You names!

We've locked down our list for the Thank You names, and are thrilled that over 6000 of you will be included! You'll have to hunt for your name (alphabetically) within the pages of our History of Fogmoor Lore Booklet, in the Residents of Fogmoor Cove section. Take pride in the fact that your name will be enshrined in this Kickstarter-exclusive tome, and be the envy of your gaming circle! At this point, no more names can be added as we're locking down the artwork for printing in a few short weeks.

The back and front covers of our 5"x 7" Lore Booklet, the History of Fogmoor. Observant players just might find this actually placed on the bookshelves within the pop-up environment!

Development Update: Almost at the Finish Line!

Our pop-up room paper engineering files are completed, and all game artwork is completed. We're just putting the last graphic design touches on the Instruction Manual, Storyteller's Companion, Tutorial Guide, and Lore Booklet. We're also doing final formatting and testing on the Expansion pack episodes (which we call Series C and Series D). We anticipate the print files will be ready for hand-off to the manufacture around mid-July. This should place our expected date for getting the games into your hands around the end of this year (likely by December).

We'll keep you posted as we get closer to our transition to manufacturing, in the meantime stay spooky/cool and be sure to follow us for more frequent updates on our social media accounts, @TheShiversGame . Thank you!

What?! A new stretch goal?! (and our Pledge Manager / Pre-Order store closing soon)
almost 3 years ago – Wed, May 12, 2021 at 02:28:59 PM

Announcing a new Stretch Goal: virtual pop-up fun!

We've teased the release of The Shivers on a digital platform, and we heard from many of you that you’d love to share this spooky fun with friends and family around the world. Well, let’s make that happen...together! Today, we're announcing a complete Tabletop Simulator build of The Shivers Core Game as a new stretch goal! Available only to our backers and pre-order supporters, access to this digital version of The Shivers will be freely available if we hit our goal of $50k additional funds in BackerKit.

Our pop-up rooms and characters look amazing in the virtual gamespace! For those of you who don't already own Tabletop Simulator, you can download it for about $20.

But only YOU can help unlock this goal!

We'll only be able to achieve this virtual transformation if YOU, our dedicated fans and backers, help us spread the word about the world’s first pop-up mystery game. If you want to play The Shivers online, we'll need to significantly grow our community with new friends and fans of spooky adventure. If you’ve already pledged, you might just be wondering how you can help. Well…

Quest Objectives:

  • Share this link on social media with friends, family, and your favorite gaming groups
  • Talk to your Friendly Local Gaming Stores about our game (retailer pledges count too!)
  • Check out the Pre-Order Store for any add-ons you may have missed

We have until the Summer Solstice (June 20th) to make the magic happen, and we'll keep you posted with our progress using this chilling chart:

When all the windows of Fogmoor Manor glow with an eerie light, the goal will be unlocked!

So please help in the effort to spread the word and unlock a really exciting new aspect of The ShiversAlso note that our Pledge Manager and Pre-Order store will be closing on that same date, and we'll be charging your credit cards as well for the amount shown in BackerKit, so now's the time to modify your orders or add some other goodies to your cart. But you'll still be able to modify your address after the Pledge Manager closes, for those of you with summer moving plans.

P.S. This is your last week for our backers and pre-order customers to submit a name for our Thank You list section! Search your inboxes for the survey from Kickstarter sent a couple months ago in order to add your entry. If you can't find it, please message us directly.

That's it for this week, stay safe out there, and thank you for your support!
